CLUB OVERVIEW:
This comfortable, low-key, alternative rock club opened in 1993 and seems likely to keep on kicking for all eternity. Every rocker who's anyone has played here over the years, from Morphine in the early days to the Decemberists and Black Lips more recently. The Black Cat has two stages: its main concert hall, which holds more than 600 people and hosts national, international, and local indie and alternative groups; and Backstage, where soloists, smaller bands, and DJs hold court, and where film screenings and poetry readings also take place.
